Horne Tooke was the author of "A treatise on inclosing Commons Address'd to Sr Jno Gibbins".

The satirical biography of Horne in the Magazine, describes him as at "seventeen reckoned rather handsome, well made, of a lively disposition, with no inconsiderable share of reputation as a scholar [but] at hear another Wolsey".
