Statue in Copenhagen City Hall Square. The Lure Players are said to blow their instruments when a virgin walks past. Rådhuspladsen, København V - Denmark The lure players is an iconic statue and familiar landmark to residents and visitors to Copenhagen. The two musicians are seen playing "lures", distinctive bronze age instruments unearthed in archaelogical digs in Scandinavia. The sculpture is designed to remind the Danes of their ancient Nordic civilisation. The statue was commissioned by the Jacobsen family, who founded the Carlsberg brewery. It was designed to mark the centenary of J.C. Jacobsens’s birth, which fell in 1911. Original lures can be seen in the Danish National Museum. Dansk: Lurblæserne i København, Danmark, i juni 1968
