Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Leaning Column of Tottenham Hale.jpg |
English: In March 2008, when I posted an update about the leaning column, some people refused to believe it had been tilting for several years. So I dug out a few old photos. (The lower one taken with a camera borrowed from Lucy Craig.)
Meanwhile, other things have greatly improved on Tottenham Hale Station forecourt. For example, it now gets weeded, and litter and dumping are rare. Also, we gratefully said goodbye to a useless pile of junk intended as a fountain/clock, which almost never worked and over the years cost tens of thousands just to keep clean. The artist, Bruce McLean named it The Bridge of Signs. Though some locals called it: "that stupid fish tank". ________________________________________ Links § An alternative view of Bruce McLean's Pavement Art in The Independent newspaper. § Updates on the famous leaning column. ► July 2010; ► December 2010 ► August 2012; |
