English: The Lang Craigs - field of boulders. Two dry-stone walls meet near this point: 1016871. Stone is not in short supply, since there is a large expanse of boulders at this location; though not forming a scree slope or talus cone, they are, nevertheless, fragments that have fallen from the crags above.
The location shown in this photograph is about half way up the crags, on a natural terrace between a vegetation-covered slope below and even steeper bare crags above. (The tower blocks positioned centrally in the near background are in Bellsmyre.) |
