English: iss070e003830 (Oct. 13, 2023) -- In the center of the Kuril Island chain is the volcanic Rasshua island (to the very right of the image). Just barely visible is its peak that emits volcanic gas, sulfur deposits streaking down its sides. To the left of the image are the islands of Ketoy and Simushir in the Sea of Okhotsk, peaking out from the swirls of clouds that cast overhead. The International Space Station soared 260 miles above as this photograph was taken.
