THE JOHN A. DOYLE COMPANY, FLORISTS. 21 s> CARNATIONS THE DIVINE FLOWER/' CAPNATION^ are delight of everyone who has an eye for the beautiful in rliy! * Ivfflowers. Whether for personal adornment or to decorate the home, they are unsurpassed in their charming appearance. Being unrivalled in their delicately rich and refreshing fragrance, unequalled for brilliancy, richness and diversity of colors, unapproached for daintiness and beauty of out- line, it is not to be wondered at that, next to the Rose, they have become the favorite flower among all classes.
Text Appearing After Image:
GRACE DARLING. The ideal light pink Carnation. A continual bloomer, with large perfect flowers of a beautiful silvery pink shade. The plant is of strong, robust constitution, and entirely free from disease. Will surely be a favorite variety. EMPRESS. Magnificent, bright, rich crimson; base of petals, bright scarlet; large, perfectly double flowers, deeply fringed and fragrant. Price, 8c each, 4 for 25c, com- plete set of 10 for 50c. JUBILEE. The color is like the rich shade of scarlet found in so many Geran- iums, growth vigorous and strong. Foliage large; deep green flower; stem very long and strong, carrying the flowers with very little support; calyx, never bursting; very free bloomer. FLORA HILL. The grandest white variety to date. The flower is of enormoUa size and rounded build; wonder- fully free in bloom; stems strong enough to support the blooms nice- ly, and they keep on stiffening as the season advances; good calyx; not subject to rust. Without exag- geration we can claim this as pro- lific a bloomer as can be found in the Carnation family. AMAZINDA. One of the most showy of the whole collection of fancy Carna- tions. Flowers very large and full, with center petal standing erect, giving the bloom a beautiful well- rounded form. Habit of plant, strong and vigorous. An even and constant bloomer from early to late. Color clear white, heavily edged and striped with bright scarlet. TRIUMPH. An exceptionally strong, healthy grower, with extra large blooms on heavy, stiff stems, 18 to 20 inches in length; flower very full, of fine form, with strong, firm calyx that does not burst; deliciously fragrant and remains in perfect condition a long time after being cut. Color, clear bright pink. PAINTED LADY. A large, very full flower, with long stiff stems; color, brilliant cherry pink, often laced lighter pink at edpes. A sfcrong, healthy grower, with clean, healthy foliage. YELLOW JACKET. A good yellow variety, quite simi- lar in color to Buttercup, and aver aging pretty well with that variety in size, while it is in much better growth than Buttercup and much freer in bloom. Its ready growth and quality of flowers produced will make it very valuable. EVELINA. Grand new white variety. A strong, healthy grower, and the calyx never bursts. Large, pure white flowers, finely fringed and deliciously fragrant. Looks like a great big snowflake. NEW SCARLET CARNATION, FIREFLY, A deep velvet-red; fliowers extra, large, seldom less than three inches across; constant free bloomer and vigorous grower. The petals are beautifully shaped and finely fringed. It is of immense size and< deep, rich color.
