THE JOHN A. DOYLE COMPANY, FLORISTS. The Three Marechal Neil Roses. NEW CLIMBING ROSE. Red Marechal Neil. The Yellow Marechal Neil has been known -from time immemorial as one of the most fra- grant and delightful of all Roses. The Red one Is a cross between the old Marechal Neil and the equally well-known and desirable rose, General Jacqueminot. The flower is very large, well- shaped, full and like the Yellow Marechal Neil in form of buds and flowers. The color is a bright carmine red, shading to pink; very sweetly fragrant; flowers most freely on branches of last year's growth and should therefore be trimmed very sparingly. In habit of growth it is very vigorous and of climbing habit, though not quite BO strong growing as the Yellow Marechal Neil. Jt has one important advantage over the latter, however, in being very hardy, it having with- stood, unprotected, the severe storms of North- ern New York. It received a gold medal at the flose Exeibition of 1897 at Frankford-on-Maine, Oermany. The leaves are very large, glossy and handsome. Price, 15c each; large 2-year-old size, 40c each. White Marechal NielâThe fame of Marechal Niel, with its large, deep, golden-yellow flowers, is so world-wide that nothing further need be said ol this new variety to make it instantly popu- lar than that it is the exact counterpart in every respect of Marechal Niel, its parent, save the jcolor of flower, which is a pale fireara y-w h i te â totally distinct. "This remarkable variety is selling at enorm o us prices in Europe, where it origin- ated. As a com- panion plant to ^larechal Niel we Anticipate a splen- did demand for it. Price, 10c each; Jarge 2-year-old plants, 30c: extra jarge plants, 50c. Yellow Rose, Marechal NielâA jtoOt>e so famous as to really require jio description. \ t s mag nificent fold en yellow uds are worn the world over; they illustrate the globular form in Jts perfection, and are almost mas- sive in dimen- sions. It is almost universally held â to be the finest climber in doors 4>r out, where the climate admits of its cultivation. This is one of the Roses that start rather slowly, and /or that reason the best success will be held with the larger plants. This superb Rose is especially re- commended for -the Southern States, where it requires but little outdoor protec- tion. Price, 10c each: large 2-year- did 25c extra large 50c each. YELLOW, RED AND WHITE.
