בראש תל חברון הקדומה הנקרא היום "תל רומידה" ושבו שכונת "אדמות ישי", מצוי מבנה מהתקופה הצלבנית. במבנה זה נמצא על פי המסורת קברו של ישי אבי דוד, וכן קברה של רות המואביה. בעקבות מסורת זו נקבע סמוך למקום בית הקברות היהודי. האגדה מיחסת למקום מחילה שהיציאה ממנה במערת המכפלה. במערב החצר מצוי מבנה מקומר, הבנוי בדיוק מפליא לכיוון ירושלים. מעל מבנה הקבר ישנה תצפית על כל העיר חברון, מערת המכפלה, קרית ארבע ובימים טובים ניתן לראות גם את הרי מואב.
