Messrs. Mon. Leak and Philo Mills established the business of this importantconcern in 1874. The Leak Glove Manufacturing Co. became incorporatedten vears later with a capital stock of $100,000. This company engages inthe manufacture of gloves of every style and description for which the factorypossesses exceptional facilities. The establishment on Market street has afrontage of 50 feet with a depth of 150 feet. It is very handsomely fitted upand tastefully arranged containing a large, well-assorted and valuable stock ofgoods. The factory is 100x150 feet in size and well supplied with machineryand apparatus of all kinds which is operated by steam and electricity. Theironing and finishing is done by steam while 60 Singer Sewing Machines areoperated by an electric motor. Xo Chinese are employed. From 30 to 40men are continually engaged in tanning the skins of horses, dogs, goats, sheep,calves and deer. Seventy-five thousand animal skins are utilized in the courseof a year. The Sierra Bu
