l; bright yellow; fleshtender, with a rich, rather acid flavor. Fair, productive, and valuable.Succeeds throughout the northern and western States. Gravenstein. Rather large, roundish j striped with bright red; fleshjuicy, with a very rich, ratber acid flavor. Tree productive, a fine grower,fonning a round head; fruit handsome and excellent. This German applehas proved fine in the northen, middle, western, and in some of the sou-thern states. Leland Spice. Rather large, roundish, red; flesh yellowish white,sub-acid, spicy, rich, of fine flavor. A Massachusetts variety; not muchproved elsewhere. Fall Orange. Large, roundish oval; pale yellow; flesh sub-acid, andexcellent if fresh and ripe from the tree. Tree a strong grower; fruitalways fair; tree bears when young. Not widely known. Rather large, flattish; color a light dull redj flesh rich,aromatic, sub-acid, of fine flavor. Growth, crooked and spreading. Suc-ceeds well in New-York and in the middle and western States. Fameuse. Medium in size,- round, sometimes flattened; whole surfaceoften a fine deep red; flesh very white, (whence its other name, Pommede Neige, or Snow-apple,) sub-acid, juicy, a little spicy, very pleasant andagreeable, but not very rich. Fall Pippin, called erroneously Holland Pippin, the latter namebelonging to a very different apple.
