English: The Holybrook The Holybrook was built by the monks of Reading Abbey to supply fresh water. It is a useful addition to the drainage of the town and still flows, mainly under the modern town. There is a section in the open here behind Reading library. It meets the River Kennet adjacent to the abbey ruins just beyond the green office block seen in the background. |
