At the top of the northern hill, alongside the entrances of the Amphitheater, are preserved the remains of a lavish house from Hellenistic period, whose structures are partially covered by the Amphitheater. The plan of the building shows the typical Domus of the Roman age: the Atrium at the center, on both sides the alae and at the back the Tablinum, while the entrance was on the south, flanked by some workshops. The structures are made with irregular slivers of dry stone, often covered by a layer of plaster; in some spaces the presence of pictorial decorations has been confirmed, perhaps done a tempera with reddish paint; the floors are made with mortar and Opus Signinum, while underneath there is a layer of stone chippings. As discovered during the excavations, this was a house built toward the end of the 2nd century B.C., then destroyed by a fire in the first half of the following century. In the Imperial age, a little space on the right, inside the house, was rebuilt to be used as a workshop.
