Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Heart of Midlothian - geograph.org.uk - 612170.jpg |
English: The Heart of Midlothian The little array of coloured cobbles set in the pavement close to St Giles Cathedral marks the "Heart of Midlothian". Well not quite, it marks the site of the former Tolbooth which was the administrative centre of the Old Town.
There is always plenty of spittle to be found on and around the heart. It is said that it brings good luck to those who leave a deposit. So next time you're passing by, go on, have a good old grolly and, if you've got your lucky knickers on, who knows what good fortune awaits you.
