Lamps. 12532178655 158 801 134 miles of water mains are laid in the North Side with1603 hydrants. SEWERS AND APPURTENANCES. The question of sewerage and drainage has received firstconsideration. The entire area of the water-sheds has beensurveyed, and the plau and grades of the street system em-braced in it were determined before the plans for the sewerageand drainage were finally settled, and the capacity proper forthe main sewers and their branches are accurately established. The work done as to sewerage and drainage plans in thedifferent water-sheds in succession, is as follows : 1. THE HUDSON RIVER WATER-SHED. This consists of some 569 acres, covering an area less thana half a mile in average width and about 2^ miles in length.About
