Original description: "Kiss Me!", Scene from "Creatures of Impulse" at the Royal Court Theatre. Illustration for The Graphic, 27 May 1871; Issue 78. An amusing fairy piece, entitled Creatures of Impulse, is at present being performed at the Royal Court Theatre. It is written by Mr. W. S. Gilbert, and is dramatised by him from a story which he wrote for the Christmas Number of The Graphic. For those who have not read the story or seen the play a few words in explanation of our picture may be advisable. A strange old lady is staying at an inn, and as she neither eats, drinks, nor pays the landlady is anxious to get rid of her. Various friends of the landlady undertake in turn to get her out of the house..." [Plot summary follows] |
