English: The Grant Arms Hotel Situated in the heart of Ramsbottom this building is steeped in history.
Originally it was a house called "Top Oth Brow" Later the Grant family occupied the house and named it Grant Lodge. The building became a hotel http://www.thegrantarmshotel.co.uk in 1828 and the new frontage was added in 1852 along with the clock inscribed with that date. For the history of Ramsbottom click on http://www.ramsbottom.net/history.htm The hotel has the unusual distinction of being located at the junction of 4 different Geograph squares SD7916 SD7816 SD7817 SD7917 |
