Description
English: Portrait of Louis, Dauphin of France, says Monsignor the Great Dauphin, son of Louis XIV, oil on canvas, late seventeenth century, gilded wood frame, nineteenth century. Frame included (H x W): 57 x 48 cm. The Grand Dauphin is represented in a wig, three-quarters face bust, cuirass, wearing the cord and wearing a blue velvet vest embroidered with gold. The mass of the hair is lightened by the fine treatment of the light locks. The face is detached by a carnation of milk raised with red cheeks and lips. It contrasts with the white-spotted lace cravings that go down on the brown breastplate, with its very well-made metallic highlights, with its ox blood lining whose color perfectly matches the blue of the richly embroidered gold coat. Very good condition. Formerly rentoilé, posterior frame. On request and under price conditions, it will be possible to set up a 17th century frame instead of the 19th century frame.
