Description |
English: The Giant Owl Limpet is a hard-shelled, algae-scraping marine snail and the largest true limpet in North America. It returns each low tide to its ‘home scar’ (a depression in the rock surface made using its radula that perfectly matches its shell outline) to order to prevent drying out (desiccation).
