To the soil on both strips I alsoapplied superphosphate at the rate of 12 ouncesper square yard, and to one of the strips onlysulphate of potash at the rate of 6 ounces persquare yard. The yield of Tomatos from theformer strip was 21 lb. per square yard, and from■the latter, which had received the potash dress-ing, it was 37 lb. per square yard; and the fruitwas finer in both appearance and flavour, andworth quite a penny per pound more. The•variety of Tomato grown was Listers Prolific.J. T. Holmes, Saluarpe, Droitwich. HYBRID WALLFLOWER. The flowers illustrated in fig. 52 are those of ahybrid Wallflower shown by Messrs. Jas.
