There was an open division, which includedgroups, stove and greenhouse plants, table plants,Ferns, TuberouB Begonias, Dahlias, Coleus, Glox-inias, and Fuchsias; cut flowers, under variousheadings of the flowers in season, as Asters,Gladiolus, Marigolds (dearly lcved in the North),Carnations, and Ficotees; bouquets of variouskinds ; fruit of almost all kinds ; also vegetables.An amateurs division, in which the more limitedmeans and appliances of the grower, who is Dot a gardener, are taken into account. This divisionincluded plants, cut flowers, fruit, and vegetables;and, finally, there was the division in which cot-tagers (and, we suppose, allotment-holders) com-peted, and which was open to residents in theborough only. This is a division, the items ofwhich require considerable extension, so as to admitof greater variety of produce being grown, theprovision for fruit being very meagre.

The secretary, Mr. J.Elliot, Jan., read a paper on the Cyclamen, inwhich he recommended sowing the seed in Julyand August, or as soon as it was ripe, in preferenceto the spring.
