Hall, Winchcombe, Cheltenham, writea:— I amsending you a Bower of Cypripedium aelligerum,taken from a plant which invariably throws up asimilarly deformed bloom as a preliminary, and afterthat is over, it sends up a spike of good flowers. Ihave now one with a two-flowered spike following adeformed flower. The flower is a very singular one. The sepalsand petals are of the usual form, but the labellum isinside out. The part which in the normal floweris at the back and resting on the lower sepals, beingin front, and the opening in the pouch, with the sidesturned out instead of in, is at the back.
