ur idea to theirunderstandings better than anything else. American Pomological Society. — ThePresident Marshall P. Wilder, met with a seriousaccident, fracturing his leg by a fall down theState House Steps some weeks ago, while en-deavoring to influence some legislation favor-able to agriculture. We hear later that Mr.Wilder is quite comfortable, though our venera-ble friend is in his eighty-first year. It is at lastcertainly decided that the meeting of this Asso-ciation will be held at Rochester, N. Y., byinvitation of the Western New York Horticul-tural Society, on the 17th of September next. Premiums for Fruit.—Among the peculiari-ties of the schedule of the New York Horticul-tural Society, is the offers for numerous varietiesof fruit. Now the offer is for the best ten Bald-win apples, and so on for an immense numberof kinds. It is not unusual for premiums to beoffered for single kinds; but it is for such largenumbers. This exhibition is to be held aboutthe middle of September.
