1.1.1958 in his New Year's speech President of Finland, Urho Kekkonen, shared his views on the condition of the nation. This studio was situated in the old Radio Broadcasting House in Pasila, Helsinki. The military marching band in the studio was lead by major (music) Martti Parantainen. Yleisradio aloitti säännölliset televisiolähetykset 1.1.1958. Vuosi käynnistyi juhlavasti presidentti Urho Kekkosen uudenvuodenpuheen televisioinnilla Pasilan alastudiosta, joka sijaitsi Helsingin radioaseman vanhassa lähetyshallissa.
