Text Appearing Before Image:
es many forms: a handclasp, a pat on the back, use of a proper name or title, a salary increase, an emblem, praise ormany others. But various situations present unique opportunitiesfor providing recognition to others, and these opportunities should besiezed when they come, not chased when they are gone. In brief: Others will like you to the extent that you accordthem recognition. I believe that if each of you in your daily work recognizes notonly the good you are doing but in turn recognizes the good of others, whether they be your superiors or subordinates, you will find successin abundance. Me of the institute realize that during your stay here, you havefound many things to be desired. Me also recognize our shortcomings. There are improvements to be made and they are being made. Mhen you go out into the world we hope you will recognize andremember the good we have tried to do. Forgive us the things we couldnot do. Congratulation and best wishes to you all, Dr. John E. Foster, President
Text Appearing After Image:
DEDICATION The Class of 1961 is proud to dedicate its yearbook to Prof. Lenine M.Gonsalves. In this small way we wish to express recognition to Prof. Gonsalvesfor his untiring efforts in behalf of the Institute and the student body. To be a success in ones chosen vocation is exemplary in itself, but whatis needed today in our society is a keen sense of values, dedication to an ideal, and moral integrity. Professor Gonsalves portrays these ideals and in this way has helpedimmeasurably in advancing the prestige cf New Bedford Institute of Technology. -u^**
