Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Esplanade, Montpellier Hill, Harrogate. Built in the 1850’s as a model development for the Duchy of Lancaster, the property became a hotel in 1913. In later years, it became the office headquarters of Yorkshire businessman Paul Sykes, who sold them in 2013. Then owned by William Adderley, founder of homeware chain Dunelm. In the 1860s and 1870s this was the studio of artist Thomas Holroyd and his photographer brother James Holroyd.
