The area of London where UK film premieres take place. With loads of cinemas. This is the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square. The Empire first opened as a theatre in 1884. It started showing theatrical films in 1896. MGM aquired it and by the 1920s it was rebuilt as a movie theatre. Empire history |
