| Description |
English: The Emigrants, a statue donated by members of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon church) to mark the many Mormons who emigrated via Liverpool from all over Europe. See this image for authorship of the statue. Their journey was replicated by some tall ships in 2001.
Although there is a plaque on the nearby wall about the Great Famine, the statue is not connected- the well dressed and well-fed Mormons do not resemble victims of the Famine. The Famine is commemorated by an artwork and plaques in the gardens of St. Luke's Church. |
