Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The East Window of Eglwys Beuno Sant Church. This is a remarkable church for a village of a few hundred people. Built in the Perpendicular style in the early 16th century, it reflects the wealth associated with the Bardsey pilgrimage. Three pilgrimages to Bardsey was the equivalent of one to Rome. The church at Clynnog was located half way between Bangor Cathedral and St Mary's Abbey on Ynys Enlli [Bardsey Island]. Its site had been occupied by a succession of monastic churches since around the year 630 A.D.
