| Description |
English: The Dower House, Stoke Park, Bristol, 4 February 2007. A house was first built here in 1553 by Sir Richard Berkeley and in 1773 it was rebuilt by the 4th Baron Botetourt. Later it was used as a dower house by the Dukes of Beaufort. From 1909-86 it became Stoke Park Hospital and then from 1991-2003 the University of the West of England used it for lectures and seminars until its Frenchay campus was redeveloped. In 2004 it was converted to residential apartments. |
