English: The Dirty Cutting. The infamous dirty cutting which caused so much difficulty in the construction of the Connel Ferry to Ballachulish railway line a hundred years ago. Looking North West. The clay was rock hard when dry and stuck to shovels like glue when wet. See "Birth and Death of a Highland Railway" by Duncan Kennedy who worked on the construction of the line. |
