Falling at once under the fas-cinating spell of the Arab people, whose life andreligion excited in me the greatest interest andcuriosity, I, with many other visitors to Biskra,sought almost in vain for answers to the manyquestions which daily presented themselves. Andif books fail, what resource is there ? The ordinarytourist, who is making a short visit, finds the Arabhimself, when questioned, blank.
