In this case there was evidence of a tendency toacromegaly noticeable in the very much enlarged lower jaw, which was prognathous,with the lower teeth extending three-eighths of an inch beyond the upper. He had alsothe characteristic broad fleshy nose and thick lips, chubby hands, and square-shapedfinger-tips described by dishing in cases of hypopituitarism. Extreme sensitiveness ofhis eyes threatened loss of vision, although examinations by oculists revealed no localcondition to account for this affection. These, together with excessive nervousness,had obliged him to give up school. Almost immediately following spreading of tin-upper arch and wide separation of the central incisors, which indicated maxillary sepa-ration, his nervousness and the eye condition began to improve.
