This seems often to be suc-ceeded or accompanied by a condensationor fibrification of the pulp tissue whichlies between the basal layer of Weil andthe substance of the pulp proper. Ahyperplasia of the connective tissue fibers of the parts occur. Sheaving* ofthe odontoblasts, with or without fattydegeneration, permanent distension ofthe arteries and arterioles, and rapid de-velopment of overgrowth of the fibroidtissue supervene until a well-markedreticular atrophy appears, and in laterstages complete fibrosis of the organ, with disappearance of all cells and nuclei.
