Vice-Consul Wolcott. The city is safe and comfortable. Attention is calledto selling charcoal in Cuba. The salaries of Gov. Magoon and other rulers ofCuba are given, and there are various other items about the Army and CustomsReceipts, which are all readable. Cuban Fruits and Vegetables are reported upon on Page 26. There is much valuableinformation for shippers and growers on this Page. The Sugar Situation is very adequately presented by Willett & Gray. ^Millions areannually lost to the Cuban planters by reason of forced markets. The articleexplains all this and some very interesting charts showing the fluctuations of beetand centrifugal sugar accompany the text. This same article has been translated into Spanish. It will be sure to be well studiedby the planters and merchants. Pages 30 and 31.
