Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Crown, Holderness Road, Hull - geograph.org.uk - 787638.jpg |
English: The Crown, Holderness Road, Hull The Crown Public House on Holderness Road was built in 1938 on the site of a much older inn first mentioned in 1748. It has a symmetrical façade with distinctive Art Deco pilasters. It is a good example of an Art Deco influenced building.
Also at this point Holderness Road takes a slight deflection and is known historically as Mile House. The northern section of the road is dual carriageway from this point onwards. The photograph was taken looking south at the point where the dual carriageway begins. |
