Summary
[edit]DescriptionThe Crow (26335625522).jpg |
“The crow wished everything was black, the owl, that every thing was white.” - William Blake I find this to be an intriguing quote - does it refer to "right and wrong", "good and evil", "wisdom vs ignorance". . . ? The possibilities are endless when taken out of context (I love quotes that transcend their original intent). The origin of the quote was William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell (1790-1793), specifically the Proverbs of Hell section. It reflects his belief that contraries are a necessary part of the human experience. Actions and thoughts are not intrinsically good or evil as defined by religion. |
