English: The Coach Yard in the Stables at Saltram.. The large pairs of doors in the brick stable block were where the horse drawn coaches were kept, there was space undercover for six. Most of the unmarried stable staff lived in the rooms above. The "garages" now house the National Trusts' shops 1194615. On the far side of the cobbled yard is the coach washing pond 1194498now closed off for safety behind the white fence; the island referred to is behind the couple and their grandchild who are looking at the ducks in the pond. |
