CoNNEADT, Ohio, Chbistian Chtjbch,Rev. O. W. Powers, Pastor. Erie Conference. (Reported by Secretary Eldredge.)Territory—Erie, Crawford, and Warren counties inPr., Chautauqua County, N. Y., and Ashtabula County,Ohio. i7!s<orj/—Organized in 1831. Some of the strong-est ehurches at its organization were in WesternN. Y. Of these, Dewittville church remains. The oldministers were self-sacrificing, receiving very littlefinancial support, as the eliurches did not exert them-selves financially. When these older preachers died, itaeon became evident that their work was not perma- nent, as many of our churches have been abandonedon account of lack of financial support. Anotherreason, early Christians seemed to avoid the largertowns, and so have lost greatly on account of membersemigrating to the centers of population. Work is nowin a hopeful condition, raising about 8500 a year forconference mission work.Next session, at Itley, Pa., Sept., 1898. President, Rev. H. H. Pershing, East Spri
