English: The Chaine Memorial tower, Larne. It was built, at the end of a short causeway, in 1887 in memory of James Chaine MP, who owned Larne harbour. The architect, SP Close, is said to have used Antrim round tower as a model. It has doubled as a lighthouse since 1899. The European Highlander is arriving from Cairnryan. |
