Summary

[edit]
Description
English: As recognized by the city of Cascade Iowa, Silos & Smoke Stacks National Heritage Area, and the Library of Congress as a historical site (Silo is the building at the top of the pathway). Built in the early 1930s by Felix Felton, an immigrant from Luxembourg who moved to Iowa and became a mason and farmer. Here he began a life that he build with his hands much like other immigrants. But unlike others his construction still stands as a silo originally built to hold grain but now a simple monument. My grandmother who still lives in the town of Cascade where it stands is directly descended from from Felix and still holding the last name of Felton. It was through my late ancestor and the silo that I achieved Luxembourg citizenship. That silo symbolizes more than just an old construction but as a foundation of my heritage.
