Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Bude Canal Conceived originally as a plan to link the Bristol Channel to the English Channel via the River Tamar, the canal as constructed was used mainly for transporting lime for agricultural purposes. The coming of the railways and chemical fertilisers badly affected this trade and the canal fell into decline. It is now used for pleasure pursuits.
