In both theactive lesions on tlie leg there ivas a very marked focal reaction: the-edges became acutely congested and oedematous, and the patient notonly felt great pain in these situations, but the healed area began tohum and became bright jnnh in colour. At the time of writing the upper of the two active lesions is healing■satisfactorily, whereas that on the ankle is still rather angry-looking.and painful.
