ct produced ischarming, the colorings of the cre-tonne harmonizing perfectly with thegeneral tone of the room, and addinga bright, cheery note to the apartment. In the choice of floor coverings for the bungalow there is a varied supplyto choose from. For the living-rooma large art square of wool and cottonwea\re is very suitable. It comes invarious shades and can be purchasedfor $15.00; it will last four or fiveseasons. An arts and crafts art squareis very satisfactory for either theliving-room or dining-room, and canbe purchased at any handcraft shopfor $20.00. It can be made to orderin any shade and design desired, andwill wear longer than the majority offloor coverings, and always look well. Then there is a large brown woolrug, which comes with a border ofbrown and yellow, and which is ad-mirably suited for a room where themission type of furniture is employed,as is a Scotch rug, a woolen product, finished alike on both sides, whichcomes in various sizes, the 9x12 sizecosting $36.00.

Hand-Woven Rug 456 THE BOSTON COOKING-SCHOOL MAGAZINE Perhaps the cheapest art squareobtainable is made of grass matting. It is often chosen, not alone for itsinexpensiveness, but for its simplecool coloring and light weight. It iseasily kept clean, and with care shouldlast three or four seasons. Small rugsof the same material are very prettyfor the chamber. If one prefers to have several smallrugs in the living-room and dining-room, in place of one large one, theNavajo Indian rugs are very pretty, asare the small arts and crafts rugs. Thelatter are particularly attractive; thesecome in shades of blue and white, green and white, Roman stripes ofdifferent tints, and numerous othercolorings. In the chambers of the bungalow,in addition to the grass mats alreadyalluded to, small cotton, hand-wovenrugs are finely suited. One placed at the side of the bedstead, and anotherin front of the dressing-table, are sureto prove attractive adjuncts to asimply furnished sleeping apart-ment. For the kit
