English: The Bluebird Café, The Strand, Ferring, West Sussex Situated right on the beach at Ferring Strand, this cafe is unusual in so much as it is fully licensed and also lets dogs in.
There has been a cafe here since the 1930's and the Canadian army used the building for a NAAFI canteen during WWII. It has had various name changes, including Martin's Retreat and The Lemon Tree, before resorting to its original name, The Blue Bird, more recently. http://www.bbc.co.uk/southerncounties/content/articles/2008/01/29/walking_the_dog_at_ferring.shtml |
