Description
English: The Axe and Compasses Public House, Aythorpe Roding, Essex. This attractive pub on the B184 marks the start of a long, straight stretch of what was once a Roman road. This section lies on a direct line between Bury St Edmunds, and the only crossing of the River Lea in Roman times, at Old Ford, in East London.
