Description
English: The Asfi mosque is located inside the Bara Imambara complex in Lucknow, India, built by Asaf-ud-Daula, Nawab of Awadh, in 1784. It is also called the Asafi Imambara.Construction of Bara Imambara was started in 1784, a year of a devastating famine, and one of Asaf-ud-Daula's objectives in embarking on this grandiose project was to provide employment for people in the region for almost a decade while the famine lasted.The complex also includes,a Labyrinth,and a bowli,,a step well with running water..The architecture of the complex reflects the maturation of ornamented Mughal design.

The ASI number of this monument of national importance is N-UP-L283.

The picture was taken by me with my samsung phone when I visited the Imambara with my family on our trip to Lucknow.

This place is just wonderful...especially the Labyrinth attracts people a lot...and the view of Lucknow which the terrace above the Labyrinth offers is just marvelous.
