| Description |
English: The Anchor, Wisley The Anchor Public House is just downstream from Pyrford Lock and close to Pyrford Marinina on the Wey navigation in Surrey. It was founded in 1728 to provide a service for the people working along the canal. The name according to local historians was apparently originally derived from anker, this being a reference to that measurement of beer representing 8.5 imperial gallons.
