s are incomplete,owing to a failure to obtain an autopsy.The clinical diagnosis was pelvic tumor 646 Multiple Myeloma of Bones 647 referred for examination of the gastro-intestinal tract with the tentative diag-nosis of malignancy, this being based onthe history of a 40-pound loss in weight.The only positive findings at this timewere in connection with the teeth, wherethere were extensive apical abscesses,and an increase in the width of the aorticshadow which we suggested was due tolues. This case entered the hospital fourmonths later. In the meantime there had Their consistency was usually soft. Onsection the new growth was seen to replacethe marrow, and in many places thegrowth had broken through the cortexand appeared externally as nodules. Thefiat bones, like the sternum and ribs wereflexible, containing very little bond.
