The Tube Stand and Shield ^^re shown is an instance of this. The handsome polished oak tube box which isprovided with a lid is lined with 4)^ millimeters of leadrubber of a gravity of 4.8. It can be raised to 5 ft. 5 ins.above the floor or taken underneath a table only 2 ft.high. The center of the tube box can be made tostand out 33 in. from the central pUlar, and thestand will remain quite steady with no tendency tooverbalance.
