Theroentgen ray plates taken on the sameday showed no changes from those taken inFebruary at the hospital. There was atotal of 113 lesions. By the end of thesecond week, after this injection, thepatient was entirely relieved of pain. InApril the roentgen ray plate showed avery definite regeneration of the bone atthe sites of the lesions. By the early partof July only a few places could be recog-nized where the lesions liad existed.

The roentgen ray platesshowed only one lesion in the os calcis.The case could not be followed. Bone and Joint Lesions of Yaws 433 Case XXII.—R. C, Filipino, fifteenyears old. The primary lesion was on theleft knee in 1905. The secondary lesionsappeared a few months later and persisteduntil 1913. No treatment was given. Thesecondary lesions gradually disappeared,but the mother yaw did not heal. From thistime the bones and joints of the lowerextremities became painful, and by August,1916, he was unable to walk. He was inthis helpless condition when I saw him onFebruary 25, 1917
